Item the First: Sinus surgery. It went very well. The procedure took about 45 minutes, and I was unconscious for all of it. They kept me around for a few hours after that to make sure the anaesthesia was wearing off properly. They packed my nose, and sent me home with Chris. It has been mending nicely since. My nose never turned black and blue, and I was never in any pain. In another week, it should be healed fully, and I should have nasal capacity that goes all the way to eleven.

Item the Second: New car. So Chris and I traded in my old Suzuki for a Toyota Corolla. It gets twice the gas mileage and I love it to bits. Here’s a picture. We will be paying it off for years to come, but we also plan to drive it until the wheels fall off, so it will work out.

Item the Third: Summer School. Starts tomorrow. I have my textbooks and thus far no homework - the teachers have yet to post syllabi. I’m taking Environmental Law and Animal Law. I’m hoping summer school will be a little more relaxed then the fall and spring sessions, but we’ll see. I’ll be working at the library before classes to afford gas. My classes are also evening classes, so we’ll see how well I handle the transition. If I like it, I might think about switching permanently.

Item the Fourth: Moot Court. I made the Moot Court team! Go me!

…is set for May 23. Oh, how I look forward to using my nostrils again.

Another thing I’ve just found to look forward to is Nathan Fillion’s new movie “Waitress.” Check out the trailer, it looks hilarious!

I need to get back to preparing to stomp all over my Torts final now. Happy Friday, all!

Finals. I took the Contracts test yesterday. My whole class agrees, the test sucked. The questions were both hard and all over the board. The essay seemed kind of loose in structure. All I want is a 60 out of 75 points. 60 points will get me my 2.5 for the class, and I’ll be happy to see the back of contracts issues for awhile.

Torts is next week, on Thursday. My goal is to beat the hell out of that final. My problem with Torts is that I seem to overlook one small but crucial thing when it comes to test time, and this crucial thing kills my score. Not this time. No, I will be ready, and I will kick ass.

And after that is a month of waiting for my grades. Brutal! If a college the size of the U of O can get grades out in two weeks, you’d think a small private school with fewer students then my high school could get their act together and post grades in a timely fashion. But I will do my best not to dwell on it and go crazy like I did over Christmas break. Summer school will help with that.
