I participated in the final round of oral arguments this morning. The high point was a FEDERAL JUDGE WHO HEARS APPEALS FOR THE 11TH CIRCUIT telling me that I convinced him of my argument.

Sadly, the federal judge does not get to vote on my final score. I felt I did pretty well this morning, but not as well as I did on Saturday. And in fact I was not one of the six highest scorers to earn an automatic invite to moot court next year. However, odds are good that I’ll be invited through the regular moot court process. 60% of my oral advocacy score and 40% of my paper score are combined for my total moot court invitation score. Given that I now have one of the highest six oral scores remaining from the applicant pool, I hope to be involved in moot court next year.

And even if I never have anything to do with moot court ever again, I’m still proud. A FEDERAL JUDGE WHO HEARS APPEALS FOR THE 11TH CIRCUIT - everyday, professionally, as his day job - said I convinced him. Wow. Law rocks!

Finished my final paper for Pro-Skills! Did really well on the draft, hoping to do as well on the revision. Oral arguments tomorrow - must defend my “client” in “court” against opposing council and a panel of three real judges for 10% of my final grade. If I do well enough, I may get invited to the moot court team. Have bought a spiffy suit and new shirt and intend to kick much arse (opposing council didn’t due much research, judging by his breif).

End of term is neigh! Done with new cases and rules for Contracts and Torts. Naught but review until finals in two weeks.

Signed up for summer school! Animal law and environmental law. Class from 6:30pm - 9:45pm Mon. - Thurs. Will likely work at the library again over the summer. I get a two week break on either side of summer term to relax.

Discovered why my nose is so screwed up! Not only do I have a deviated septum, I have a ginourmous polyp in there. 99.9% of nasal polyps are not cancerous, so no worries there. But I need sinus surgery to remove it and have full access to my nasal capacities again. I’m having a sinus CT on Monday, with surgery to follow in May.

We got some new couches! And a kitchen table! Now I really want to paint our apartment, but we’re not allowed.

Husband and Cat are well. Car is still on the road. Life continues fine.
